    @heredos oops... maybe I shalln't complain as much. I was under the impression that people down on the continent had housing that is better adapted to warmer weather, even though the heat is getting quite extreme.

    up here the old housing is all built to be extremely insulated from cold and any ventilation, if any, is an afterthought installed decades later. turns out opening the windows doesn't do much when the outdoor temperature is higher than the indoor one.

      @ROllerozxa@hachyderm.io turns out, france's buildings are kind of built with the same intent. and it's been 17 years since people are asking for energy markers to reflect not just the heating, but also how much energy is required to cool down a building, if a cooler is even installed (which is not the case 99% of the time, even for new buildings), but our politicians are too busy making budget cuts to care.
