@Li@tech.lgbt don't llms usually havee a thing that translates html to markdown before they read it? Pretty shre it ignores comments

    @heredos perhaps, im not sure of a way to include it on my website thatd survive a markdown conversion and still be not visible to the user though, maybe font size 0 or something

        @Li@tech.lgbt @heredos@heredos.net do note that these options will also likely fuck it up for screen readers

          @root @heredos hm yes, (tbh im not sure how well my site works with screen readers already tbh) .. but its also *just* the anthrophic reject string which is probably not a big deal if its spoken out loud or something, unless im missing something

            @root @heredos but if you want to avoid that, perhaps adding it as a fragment part to a image link or something .. screen readers shouldnt(? i think?) speak image URLs out loud yeah? only alt text ..

                @Li@tech.lgbt @heredos@heredos.net I'd assume they probably just use pandoc html->md but seeing as they're AI companies I'm not sure they'd opt for the logical approach

                      @Li@tech.lgbt maybe a link link is better.
                      Image links tend to be converted directly to image toxens

                        @root@possum.city true.
                        Though, since parsers and screen readers work on the exact same basis, i don't think you can find a way to make one work without affecting the other...

                        Unless you put the forbidden in a link, the url gets ignored by the screen reader in favor of the link text while the url still gets fed to the llm.

                            @root@possum.city yea, i kinda have firsthad experience with that, but here we're trying to mess with the layer right before the llm, so it should be more deterministic

                              @heredos@heredos.net iirc a handful of them actually use an LLM to parse the html into markdown... before parsing the markdown

                                @root@possum.city ye, i heard about that, but as you said, it's eithe terrible results cuz htm is unreadable, or you pay thousands to get results that are barely better than a vibecoded parser, your local ai bro's choice is easy to guess
