i saw a dtm musician i really like disclosing the use of an ai soft in their bio. I was kinda disapointed but also i couldn't believe that they chose to use ai when they already spent so much time and money in fl studio. So i investigated.
turns out, the ai in question was basically a glorified soundfont that takes midi as input and out goes a slightly less-computer sounding sound. And you can do the same for voices, vocaloid style. All of it being continuousely licensed to real, consenting artists that get paid for it.
This is actually something i can get behind, and i hope that's the kind of ai that will persist in the future.
